How we get the information and why we have it
Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you when you contact us to book your vehicle in with us.
We may also obtain information about your vehicle when you provide us with the Registration Number so that we can supply the correct parts/ or gain technical info.
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful basis we rely on for processing this information is we have a legitimate interest. We need to be able to contact you easily when you bring your car to the garage. For example, we may need to call you to let you know your car is ready or to discuss any issues or your requirements for work. We also need to use your information to prepare our invoice.
We may also contact you on an annual basis by text or email to let you know your car is due an MOT or service.
CCTV cameras are fitted inside and outside the garage, purely for security reasons. Our security tapes are kept for 25 days and are only used to investigate potential security breaches.
Who we share the information with
We will never share your information with other third parties without your consent unless a legal obligation or regulation requires it, for example in relation to fraud prevention or in order to carry out legal checks or to issue certificates in relation to your vehicle.
If you make a payment to us by card, the transaction is dealt with by Worldpay who will receive your financial information in the same way as any other card payment service. There Privacy Policy can be viewed at https://online.worldpay.com/terms/privacy
How we store your information
Your information is securely stored in a password protected database, which is stored on an external secure server by our software suppliers. All staff who have access to the database are trained in how to use the information in a secure and sensitive way.
Your information which appears on our invoices will also be securely stored in a paper filing system as part of our accounting records.
No data transmission over the internet can however be guaranteed to be 100% secure. So while we strive to safeguard your information, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you provide online and you do this at your own risk.
We keep your name, contact details and vehicle details within our database for a period of 2 years after your cease to be a regular customer, unless you request us to delete it at an earlier date. We will then dispose your information by an audit of our database to remove the information of ex-customers. Invoices will be kept for as long as required by law.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
